2021 China-Pakistan bilateral seminar was successfully held

On the evening of September 6, the Science and Technology bilateral seminar of Wuhan University-Pakistan National University was held in the Academic Conference Hall of the State Key Laboratory of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Science. This meeting adopted a combination of online and offline methods. The seminar was co-organized by the Himalayan Hydropower Research Center of Wuhan University and the Regional Center for Water Technology and Transboundary Issues of the National University of Science and Technology of Pakistan. The School of Water Resources and Hydropower of Wuhan University and the State Key Laboratory of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Science gave strong support to this event.

Professor Dong, director of the Himalayan Hydropower Research Center of Wuhan University, and Associate Professor Muhammad Shahid of Pakistan National University of Science and Technology introduced the general situation of Wuhan University and Pakistan National University of Science and Technology, and the teaching, scientific research, talent training and other information of their colleges. Professor Qian, director of the Himalaya Hydropower Research Center, gave a report titled "An overview of HRCHR research on sediment erosion of hydraulic machinery", which introduced in detail the research results of the center in the field of sediment erosion of hydraulic machinery;  Sajjad Haider, professor of Pakistan National University of Science and Technology, introduced the research progress and preliminary results of the Open Fund of the State Key Laboratory of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Science, including three-dimensional dam-break flow simulation, flood inundation model GPU algorithm and river environmental assessment. Subsequently, the two parties further discussed the specific content and methods of follow-up cooperation.
